The MA in animation is a 36-week course run over a 15 month period.
The course starts in January.
We specialise in 2D, CGI and Stop Motion animation.
The Bristol School of Animation is similar to other animation courses:
- Workshops using industry standard kit for 2d, CGI and Stop Motion.
- Lectures and guest speakers from Industry.
- Collaborative projects and Live Briefs.
- Tutorials, Seminars and Lectures with Industry Professional Staff.
But there are 3 three differences – 3 B’s.
- Bijou.
We are a small course.
This allows us to get to know you and help support you in your own specific needs, aims and aspirations.
- Bristol.
We’re in Bristol, with its thriving animation industry. (Notably Aardman, amongst many others). The MA has strong connections with industry and the lively (wider) animation community.
- Bespoke.
The MA enables you to focus on your chosen area of specialisation – Animation, Pre-Production, Making, and you can make your own film.
The Bristol School of Animation (UWE) aims to give you the freedom to experience and explore the wide and varied world of Animation, and to help you find your own voice.
Take a look at the 3 MA Open Day Films below – they’re packed full of useful information and student work.
We look forward to hearing from you!
This course is eligible for BAFTA scholarship.
