Recent UWE Bristol School of Animation graduates Jacob Screen and James Cantle have won a coveted incubation space at ‘Launch Space’ – home to a number of high-tech, innovative graduate start-ups with free incubation space and business support…

We caught up with James and Jacob to see how things are progressing and find out more about how Launch Space has helped with their professional practice.

“The space to grow our ideas and our network has been invaluable. We’ve had one to one support to guide us through putting together our business plan and have taken advantage of meeting new people and gathering clients.

It’s great to be part of an entrepreneurial community, hear other ideas and be in an environment with a strong work ethic. It’s a good bridge for us after graduating and think it’s an opportunity that is really valuable for graduating students.”

“Many Start-up businesses are pre-cash flow so the offer of 12 months office space and business support is extremely valuable. The residents also value the community of start-ups and the interactions they have in the space, and uniquely the ability to connect with all the academic knowledge and resources at the university.

We support business planning through a programme of reviews throughout the year, the ability to communicate their business proposition effectively to a given end, and to make use of all available network connections are all tools that graduates can use to their benefit.”
