Animation Student Wins UWE Annual Christmas Card Competition
Filipa Da Costa Gaspar, currently studying BA Animation at UWE, has won the hotly contested annual christmas card design competition. Students were asked to design a festive card for the chance to win a cash prize if theirs was chosen as the best design.
Filipa said, ‘I heard about this competition through my teachers, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to do some work as a breather for my third-year film. I ended up being highly influenced by the film I’m doing and went for windows as a way to represent community and focus on solidarity and togetherness, as these are concepts we can often take for granted. Winning this competition was of great importance to me as this was the first time I’ve ever won something with my art. It motivates me to work harder and keep improving my craft to tell more amazing stories, reach my goals and have fun!’
