Royal Television Society Student Awards 2020 Winners!
At The Everyman Cinema in Bristol on Wednesday 26th Feb, the Royal Television Society held the Student Awards 2020 in the West of England.
And in the audience, nervous and waiting to hear the results were three of our recent graduates, Matt Thomas, Laura Miranda, and Harriett Bradbury for their final year films.
The three graduates and their UWE graduation films took all three nominated places for animation in the West of England. A triumph for last years’ group and wonderful to know that UWE Animation would automatically be a winner.
The winner of the RTS Animation category was chosen by the judges because ‘Everyone thought it was a quirky, very different & funny film. The story was good and well told, with some great writing.’
The winner was Love Bugs, by Harriett Bradbury, a quirky tale about love and insects. She received her RTS award from judge Howie Clarke from Aardman, Marketing and Digital Content Creative.
But it wasn’t over just yet, as there were also craft awards for their hard work:
-Love Bugs, Writing, for Harriett Bradbury
-Grit received craft awards for Sound, Design and Editing for Matt Thomas
To celebrate, we will be releasing Harriett’s Spotlight Interview in the next few days and share her thoughts on UWE, Animation and her RTS win!
