RTS West of England Nominations 2022
This year we are delighted to announce that four student films have been nominated for the RTS West of England 2022 Student Animation Award. UWE has swept the entire category, with students Hoching Kwok, Alison Loke, Tom Cushing and Tish Marsh, and Felix Surplus all up for the award.
A collaborative film ‘The Big Top’, made in second year by students Lily Goodwin, Julia Henauer, Cleo Parker and Ruby Black, has also been nominated for the RTS Craft Award. Also nominated for the visual design craft award is 2021 UWE Animation graduate Hazel Boxall’s film ‘A Miraculous Midnight’, while graduate Julia Vaccina is nominated for a craft award in writing for ‘The Lonely Dandelion’. Bristol School of Animation extends a huge congratulations to all of our students and graduates who have been nominated.
Julia Bracegirdle, senior lecturer at UWE Animation, said ‘We are so excited – this is the most nominations Bristol School of Animation has ever had, and this builds on several years of films that won the regional finals, and last year we were national winners. Our students are gaining a great reputation as exceptional practitioners and auteurs. ‘
The award ceremony will take place on Tuesday 15th March at the Everyman Cinema in Bristol. Best of luck to all our nominees!
