Bristol School of Animation graduate Sam Shaw wins ‘Show Me The Animation’ challenge ‘Do It In Ten’!
We caught up with Sam to find out more about his ‘Do It In Ten’ entry responding to the theme of ‘LOST’…
“I’ve entered the SMTA competition a few times before. I like to enter every October to get a spooky animation out there! Entering competitions and making shorts can have lots of value – it’s a great way to get your work seen, but most importantly they’re a nice way to practice. The fact that these are competitions makes you try a bit harder and working to tight brief is a good way of pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. My hints and tips to students and other graduates is to enter as much as you can, but make sure you’re happy with what you’ve created and that it’s your own identity. Win or lose it’s an awesome feeling when people watch something you have created.” – Sam Shaw November 2016
