UWE Animation hosts British Animation Awards live screening on campus

On thursday 25th January, UWE Animation was one of a handful of universities in the UK to organise a live screening event for the British Animation Awards. We were proud to host a screening on campus at Bower Ashton, where students, staff, and alumni came together to enjoy a range of films made by British animators and animation studios. The final year degree show committee also provided some delicious homemade snacks and drinks which earned them £150 to add to their degree show budget.

Five of the short films selected for the awards were created by current or past students of Bristol School of Animation, and we were pleased to be joined by two of the filmmakers, Tova Persson and Hoching Kwok, on the night.

Anyone who watches the programme is eligible to vote for their favourite, and we enjoyed lively conversations around who would win the top votes for the awards. We wish all UWE Animation nominees the best of luck, and look forward to screening the awards again next year.
