‘Where do they get these weird ideas?’ – UWE Animation’s fabulous degree show!
Wine, nibbles, laughter, chat and lashings of animation! Congratulations to our brilliant students, who pulled together an amazing event for their final year degree show.
Running for 10 days over June at the Bower Ashton campus, the show screened of all the final year BA and MA films, plus displays of their 2d, CGI and stop motion work.
The private view was packed with industry animation professionals, studios from Bristol and beyond. A great buzz as they chatted to our students about their wonderful work and future plans.
Peter Lord, co-founder of Aardman Animations, praised the work, the different styles and the diversity of subject matter, and asked “Where do they get these weird ideas?”
The Bristol School of Animation can’t take credit for these fantastically weird ideas, but we’re pleased to have given the students the skills, the encouragement and critique to bring them to life.
We’re incredibly proud of the students and would like to give a special thank you to the third-year degree show committee who worked so hard to make this degree show so amazing! Well done everyone.
